Use of low doses of antidepressants to aid in benzo withdrawal

Possibly, specifically for Klonopin/clonazepam.

 

I vaguely recall haveing read about people being withdraw from Klonopin (not 'mentally depressed') with the aid of a very small dose of an SSRI. Perhaps 5 mg sertraline ?

 

Unfortunately, I am unable to find those stories/methods.

 

Is this familiar to anyone ?

Sertraline has helped me eliminate depression almost entirely it's actually been quite effective in my benzo wd process. I also take it with mirtazapine (remeron) so that's basically two antidepressants which is probably why it has eliminated the depression entirely, I can't say sertraline at 5mg by itself would do anything. In my opinion that would be more of a placebo than anything else... I would talk to your GP/Doctor. If you are absolutely desperate and your depression is horrible maybe you could try the combo I am on? Or discuss that with your GP/Doctor? Did the sertraline cause insomnia ?

Not in me no, it is a possibility though. All drugs can have adverse effects.

They put me on Cymbalta and remeron inpatient and it definitely helped me.
