I was tapering quetiapin

But aparently I am already in benzos wd so I need to taper benzo now

My schedule is

1.25 mg at 1 pm

1.25 mg at 6 pm

2.25 mg at 9 pm

Wich is insane dose

My questions sa told me ten percent per month

How I do that

Ten percent of the first 1 pm dose until finish then the other and so on or how

I should pass to Ashton to Valium i mean ?

I have a pharmacy to do the cut but I have to tell them how

Nobody tell me nothing or just look for a doctor with you know is useless

How should I taper that

Everywhere I get silence . Maybe that cos I’m lost case ?

Ok thanks guys hope you understand me

Do you plan to hold your quetiapine dose, we suggest tapering only one medication at a time.

We suggest tapering according to your symptoms, if you record your reductions along with your symptom severity, you can use this to determine future reductions.  These reductions can be made weekly, biweekly or monthly or longer, using this will hopefully keep you functioning.

You can reduce 10% (or whatever percentage works for you) any of your doses.  Some will cut their midday dose, the next time they may reduce their morning dose.  The decision to cut what dose should be made according to your lifestyle and needs.

Crossing to Valium is useful if you're dealing with severe interdose withdrawal, there isn't much reason to cross other than that as going on another drug will involve getting used to those side effects and it can take some time to cross over, especially from an amount as high as yours.

Please tell us about your pharmacy, do you mean they'll cut your pills for you?  Or are you talking about tapering strips?

Your pharmacy will provide you with 3 separate doses for each day?  How often would you pick up your medication, meaning how many days of precisely cut pills would you receive each time?  This is important because you may have a rough couple of weeks and decide to hold your dose a little longer, would you then have to go to the pharmacy to request another week of the same dose each day?

I've not encountered a pharmacy who provides this kind of service so I need more information.

Will the pharmacy do the calculations, meaning, if you tell them you want them to reduce your 6 pm dose of 1.25 by 10% will that be enough or do they need to know what that pill weight should be?

I tell them the weight

Or maybe I should tell them the 10%

With quetiapin I told them with a 200 mg pill to that pill must weight 187,5 and they did it now I can’t taper more of that cos my wd

But I told them I need this pill weight x and they do it

Also 1pm and 6 pm dose I not perfectly cut

I cut in half and take them

So I will need to they cut in half exactly 1.25 mg and give me the capsules

It appears you have a good working relationship with your pharmacy, my suggestion is to continue to work with them as you have in the past, you're just changing the medication, not the method.

May I ask, what size are your tablets and have you tried cutting them yourself?
