Those are awesome.  I seldom see a sunset because we have so many trees here.  Whereabouts was this taken?  I'd like to know where everyone is from.  Maybe I'll start a thread for that.  ::)

I dunno where these little fellers came from. I'm pretty sure they are not native to the Midwest. One day a whole swarm of them came and visited my cherry tree and I had to snap some pics. They look like sparrows except the males (I assume) all had red heads.

I live 1 hour west of chicago in Illinois. I get sunsets almost every night that are so beautiful. This was taken from my deck and we have a great view from there. I have been trying to catch a rainbow but so far nothing.

Love the red heADED birds. WSe get so many birds here but I would need a good zoom lens fror that. Hummm, maybe thats what I will buy next. ::)

Hey (((Tony))), good to see you was wondering where you were on TRAP, but read a post explaining here. Glad you had BB to come to.  That little guy looks like the Finches we have here in AZ. They are larger than the normal Finches, and the boys have the red on them, females are all brownish. Not sure about yours, but that's what it looks like to me. I will try to get a shot of some of mine, can't run them off!! Made the mistake of feeding the buggars and now can't get rid of them. They and the doves sit on my patio like dogs!

(((Marilyn))) you are so blessed with that wonderful deck over looking all the land. Knowing what it feels like to loose yourself in this benzo nightmare, I am so happy you have this beautiful place to go to. And of course I love your sunset. I have saved a lot of your photos you have taken from your deck. I now have much of the same gift, my back yard with my garden and plants and hummingbirds. I have 4 of them, but 2 of them in particular have made themselves very comfortable here. I am so in love with these guys, can't wait to get up in the morning to see them. One stays on our covered patio, and the other one tends to the garden and our Passion Fruit vine.

IN the midst of this benzo nightmare, I am finally starting to appreciate the smaller things in life. And this is a little guy that has made his home on my patio and ironically he perches on a hummerbird wind chime my good friend gave me years ago. I love it that out of all the things on my patio he chose this.

I think these are all Anna Hummingbirds. I have been emailing back and forth with a guy that is an Hummer expert and so far he has called them all Annas.

He sits here until it is almost dark. I think he likes us. We love him!

This is a baby Anna, and the pics is distorted because I edited it so I could see his little face. He sits on my Potato plant all day long and guards his favorite feeder. He is so cute! His head will get red like this next one I presume soon.

This is an adult Anna hummingbird (red head) and this one tends the garden with me every night. He is not afraid of my anymore and goes from location to location as I water. I edited this one so you could see his beautiful red head.

Oh my God Avey, these are beautiful. I have hummingbirds  but could never get pictures of them. Isnt mother nature something else? I had to get older to appreciate her like I do today. There are times I just sit on the deck, look at the clouds and say out loud, "God you are my favorite artist." The colors of the world just are breath taking. And the animals, the grace of their movement...I dont know I am just in awe at times and cant understand why in Gods earth I never saw what I see today. Comes with age I guess. Thank God I have been blessed with age. I made it to 59 and alot of people dont. I look forward to growing old if life just keeps making my sences more alert like it has been.

Hi Ave!!!  :yippee: :yippee: :yippee: So good to see you here.

The females I saw looked like regular sparrows to me. I couldn't tell them apart. Interesting thing is I've never seen them before or since.

I so know what you are saying. I asked one of our benzo survivors the other day is she was ever glad that the benzo thing happened, and she said "yes!". We talked about how fast we were going  while healthy, and how much we appreciate the small things now, the important things. There is much to learn from Mother Earth and her creatures. I feel so very blessed to have these little hummers in my life, so very blessed. We're getting there Marilyn. I'm with you, glad I have made it to 51. Not sure how I did, but grateful.

Good to see you.  :)

When I first saw mine I called the Finches, my husband said no, they were sparrows. But I looked the ones here up and they are Finches, just larger like sparrows. I do have some Sparrows, but the ones I have like this are Finches. It's a certain kind of Finch, of course can't remember.

I looked them up once and I do believe you are correct.

Marilyn, I forgot to tell you, I have my camera on my tripod all day waiting to get a shot. They are so used to me with my camera and tripod now they just watch me. I can get as close as 12 feet now. They are buggers!

Here is one feeding. Not a great shot; I need to be on the other side of the feeder but I"m in my kitchen at my window shooting this. They don't like the red stuff you buy in the store, they like plain ole sugar in water. 4 parts water, 1 sugar. They eat it up.  Look at his little feet, they just crack me up!

I'm hoping to upgrade my camera by the holidays. I can't see asking now, I have not worked now for 3 years, feel guity spending any money right now.
