Will You Teach Me a Song of Joy?

Ode an die Freude

Freude, schöner Götterfunken, Tochter aus Elysium,
Wir betreten feuertrunken, Himmlische, den Heiligtum.
Deine Zauber binden wieder, Was die Mode streng geteilt,
Alle Menschen werden Brüder, Wo dein sanfter Flügel weilt.
     Ode to Joy

Joy, bright spark of divinity, Maiden from Elysium,
Drunk with Fire, Heavenly Lady, we tread your sanctuary!
Your magic power reunites Whatever custom separates;
All men become brothers Under the sway of thy gentle wings.

Let there be Peace on Earth, and let it begin with me     Happy Easter Everybody

Oh Happy Day

Edwin Hawkins Singers
1969
Oh Happy Day is a 1967 gospel music arrangement of an 18th-century
hymn by clergyman Philip Doddridge. Recorded by the Edwin Hawkins Singers,
it became an international hit in 1969, reaching No. 4 on the US Singles Chart,
No. 1 in France, Germany, and the Netherlands and No. 2 on the Canadian
Singles Chart, UK Singles Chart, and Irish Singles Chart. It has since become a
gospel music standard. The recording begins with a muted [...], drum, and bass
backing lead singer Dorothy Combs Morrison on the left-hand stereo channel,
then alternates twice with a full-throated chorus that includes a large ensemble,
and ends with a return to the muted sound at the beginning. The track is notable
for its clear sound given the powerful vocals and the modest equipment used to
capture them. It was made at Hawkins' church, the Ephesian Church of God in Christ
in Berkeley, California.  More...

I've never seen that movie, but now it's on my list, because this is one of my favorite songs.
I'm searching for more Songs of Joy online, but I'm having a hard time.
Never realized there were so few.

I could use a little help here folks, OK?  :socool:

I enjoy all types of music, or most anyway.

3 Dog Night was a favorite group of mine during my college daze! It was a nice break from the serious music I was practicing for hours.

Joy to the World" is a song written by Hoyt Axton and made famous by the band Three Dog Night. The song is also popularly known by its opening lyric, "Jeremiah was a bullfrog." Three Dog Night originally released the song on their fourth studio album, Naturally, in November 1970, and subsequently released an edited version of the song as a single in February 1971.
The song, which has been described by members of Three Dog Night as a "kid's song" and a "silly song," …

Feeling Good.  Lauryn Hill here, making tribute to Nina Simone:
https://youtu.be/9taxF4MsIn4

Birds flying high, you know how I feel
Sun in the sky, you know how I feel
Breeze driftin' on by, you know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life for me, yeah
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life for me, ooh
And I'm feeling good
Fish in the sea, you know how I feel
River running free, you know how I feel
Blossom on the tree, you know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life for me
And I'm feeling good
Dragonfly out in the sun you know what I mean, don't you know?
Butterflies all havin' fun, you know what I mean
Sleep in peace when day is done, that's what I mean
And this old world, is a new world
And a bold world for me, yeah-yeah
Stars when you shine, you know how I feel
Scent of the pine, you know how I feel
Oh, freedom is mine
And I know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life for me
I'm feeling good
