Antibiotics causing withdrawal symptoms

Hey everyone

Thought I would share about an experience i had earlier this year... Long story short I had to take a 10 day round of antibiotics (amoxicillin) for really bad stomach and back pain due to colitis ( inflamation of the colon). I was taking 2mg of diazepam 3x daily at the time. 2 days after taking them i had bad diarreah  lost all my sleep, and was jumping out of my skin. Heart racing, panicked, etc.. I thought "this feels just like my xanax withdrawal from 2016." Turns out antibiotics really alter your gut health and the way you process things you ingest. Basically i was feeling withdrawals brcause my gut could not process the diazepam in its normal way. I stopped the antibiotic 2 days early to stop the w.d. symptoms. I began eating a lot of yogurt and that helped sooooo much to get my gut back in check. Things went back to normal almost immediately.. very strange...Anyways just something to consider if you are taking a benzo and have to take an antibiotic..
