Has a symptom come back more aggressive?

This will sound weird but I'm wondering if you've ever experienced a symptom that came on for a day, maybe it was a hour maybe it was half the day... It was just one of those really scary symptoms that cleared up really quickly.

Has anyone experienced one of those symptoms that came back more aggressive like months and months later that stuck around and morphed into other a bigger problem?
