Symptoms worse in the beginning?

We all know that sxs tend to come back around, has anyone noticed that sxs (I hope of shorting symptoms correctly, I've seen it both sxs and sys) are ten times worse when they first crop up and get less and less intense the other times they pop up? Maybe they're go back to acute again in the future but generally it's always worse in the beginning and then levels out... Is that a thing anyone else has noticed?
