Ambien Taper
« on: December 16, 2022, 10:50:48 pm »
Good evening (where I am).  I’m looking down the road to tapering the Ambien 10mg.  How can I taper the Ambien with its short half life?  Unfortunately I’m also prescribed Gabapentin 300mg daily and trazadone 50mg both of which I’ll be tackling at some point.  I’m not sure how one could dose them Ambien throughout the day but I’ve also only ever taken it at bedtime.  I’ve been prescribe the medication since September of this year after Covid initiated severe insomnia.  Any suggestions?

Yeah, it’s not a good idea to dose Ambien during the day, the hypnotic qualities tend to give you amnesia, not good for daytime functioning.

It’s a miserable taper because the second you begin the insomnia sets in but the relief I felt getting off this drug was wonderful.

I’ve seen members reduce by 10%, are you feeling interdose withdrawal?
