Hey [...]!

You helped me so much before. Always thought about you.
I don't think it was worse due to my gallbladder, it didn't really surface until about 2 months ago. Benzo withdrawal likely messed it up though. Because I was throwing up so much for 2 years, I think my gallbladder just went ka-putt.

NAD+ is really complicated. And I mean REALLY complicated. If you know science or biology at all, you know it's part of the Kreb's cycle and important for production of ATP, but it's much more than that. I would suggest immersing yourself in research like I did. Basically, your mitochondria, the basis of your energy and so much more, is fueled by NAD+. It lessens as life goes on, and alcohol and many drugs can lessen it drastically. On benzo withdrawal, your human body is like a dying car battery, car batteries have cells inside them just like us. Your battery is physically depressed and is operating at minimal capacity due to an external force i.e benzos. NAD+ comes in and jumps starts the battery and removes the external force (benzos) giving new life. Very simplified way of trying to describe it.

Wow, I am so intrigued.  This is a completely different way of medically approaching withdrawal- not by trying to introduce another drug or supplement to ease the symptoms, but to increase the body's ability to cope with it.  Amazing.  So, after just 15 days, in rapid taper or CT along with the NAD+ treatment, you are not left in acute withdrawal?  So many of these detox places take you in, and spit you back out in 2 weeks' time leaving you in full blown withdrawal because their medical 'treatments' have ended and your body is left bare bones to cope with the withdrawal.  I'm fascinated!

I’m glad you’re fascinated. I was and am still too. It’s amazing. [...], that’s exactly correct. NAD+ helps your body detox better and make everything more efficient like eye sight, heart function, liver function, chronic fatigue, antibiotic poisoning, smell, taste, breathing, sleeping, etc. I wear glasses, everyday and  when I came home from the clinic I could see perfectly. I have a digital wall clock that’s across the room that is always blurry to me. After nad+, I could easily see it.

The problem with NAD+ is it’s expensive. Zero funding. Our government makes too much from pharmaceuticals to fund it. Insurance companies would never cover it. There are great studies being done next year to scientifically prove efficacy but we are not there yet. So only the wealthy or fortunate can pay for now. Although, I had planned on going to traditional detox in Thailand for 6 months to do an Ashton style taper under a Dr. who trained under Ashton in the UK. The price was about the same. I live in San Diego and I was also looking into detoxes in Malibu, a famous one, for $60k. So to ME, $20k was a steal and way more effective.

This gives me [...] that there may be ways other than NAD to support my body in making it more proficient in healing itself.  I have done acupuncture in the past, and it did help.  The acupuncturist I worked with was in NJ, and I relocated to FL.  I did find an herbalist/acupuncturist/neuro-linguistic programmer/coach who said he has helped people to withdraw and detox in inpatient and outpatient settings, including help with benzodiazepines... and he is in my town.  He may be a good place to start.  I'm down to 4 mg from 11 mg of Valium, and I'm finding I am getting sick more often, and it is getting harder to make progress.  I do need to function and take care of my children.  And, I want to LIVE :)

Hi

Just wanted to chime in and say there are Nautropaths who offer the NAD+ therapy (at least where I live) - I am seeing one on Thursday! Super excited to get more info on this. I know San Diego is too far for me so I am seeing about what I can do where I live. I was happy to see that two Natropaths offered this here. Thanks for sharing your story!

You bet [...]!

My GP is a NaturalPath NP whom I met at the NAD+ clinic. She saved my life, frankly. We both personally use NAD+ as one of our main supplements.
The traditional allopathic/western medical model failed me big time. It happens all the time. However, it also just saved me with my gallbladder. So try not to dismiss it entirely.
The reason I like a NaturalPath is because one the first things they usually do is run a ton of labs on everything, like 20 tubes of blood so find out exactly what's going on.

Yes, thank you for sharing!  I am on a google hunt to find a naturopath near me that offers NAD+.  Closest I have found is a doctor in Miami, which is a couple hours from my town.  He seems to be the only one in south Florida, according to my searches.  I'll keep looking.

Yup. Very interesting.

So, I almost went with Ken Starr but I was closer to the NAD+ treatment center where I live in San Diego.
Ken is great, understood everything. I paid to pick his brain for an hour over the phone. I just needed something closer to home, and a bit more inclusive.
Like the place I went to had 4 services included with a certain amount of days, like a massage, chiropractor, acupuncture, float tank etc.
The list to choose from was extensive. And inside the clinic there was a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, massage chair, red light therapy, and much more.
There are other options of course, but I fully support the clinic I went to and Ken Starr.

I was in many of your shoes for a long time. Once I found out about NAD+ from a previous member on here, I immersed myself and learned everything that I could.
Day and night was spent researching, trying to make a decision. I had an official sit down with my parents, parent in-laws, and went over all of my options.
NAD+ was my decision out of all of them due to what I had studied and heard. I just didn't think a traditional detox would work for ME, and it likely wouldn't have.
