Withdrawal and Taper Support Through the PM System
« on: May 29, 2010, 05:25:12 pm »
Please do not request taper and withdrawal advice from members of the team or other community members via the PM (Personal Message) system. The PM system is a great resource for moral support and exchanging notes with friends, but all requests for help regarding your withdrawal or taper plan should be posted to the open forum. With the best will in the world, the feedback you receive via the PM system will be narrow, could be of poor quality, or plain erroneous. Whereas, feedback from the open forum will be wide, and where suggestions are poor or wrong, they will be afforded the opportunity of being corrected by other posters.

If you feel at all concerned about any content or aspect of the BenzoBuddies community, please contact a specific member of the team if you feel this is the best option. However, the most efficient methods of bringing general problems to the attention of the team are as follows:

  • If you receive a PM that causes you concern, for whatever reason, the "Report to Admin" option is available with each individual PM you receive. If you use the Report function, a copy of the original PM will be sent to the Administrators (Admins) of the forum, and you will have the opportunity to attach your own comments too.

  • If you come across a post on the forum that you feel is wrong, unsafe, abusive, inappropriate, etc., the "Report to Moderator" option is available at the foot of each individual post. If you report a post, like the PM report system, you will have the opportunity to attach your own notes and reasons for making the report.

  • If your concerns are more complicated, urgent, or do not fit easily with the PM or post report functions, please start a ticket at the Help Desk. This will bring your concerns to the attention of whole moderation team, but, to reassure you, your contact threads cannot be viewed by other ordinary members.

Again, if you feel it more appropriate, you do still have the option of sending a PM to an individual member of the team. However, if your report is urgent, please use one of the other report methods, as the problem is likely to be dealt with more swiftly.

Thank you.

Edit: Changed contact information to more current Help Desk.

Hello CJ,

The PM system is still suspended due to privacy concerns, however the team can still send them.  If you received a message in your email, it's likely a member of the team sent you a PM.  You should be able to read the PM from your email account, and ordinarily, you'd be able to log into BenzoBuddies and read the message in your Message box.  Due to the continued suspension though, you won't be able to read or respond to the message from your Message box.  Is the message from me, is it the welcome to the forum message we send new members?

If you'd like to contact the team in private, you can contact the moderation team at the Help Desk located here.  We're very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing, I [...] I haven't confused you.

The chat room and shout box haven't been installed yet [...]. Here's a thread that some members started about that. All the questions you have are probably answered here:
