He was on Celebrity Rehab, for heroin, then had a hard time stopping benzos, slipped, and then was doing good. However, when he was arrested last month they found a painkiller, Opana ( never heard of), and good old Xanax! I'm no doctor but I bet he overdosed bc he couldn't take the withdrawals!!! I'm just guessing. My heart sank a little when I heard I used to follow him on the show and was rooting for him. Dam these evil, evil, f*#@*#* pills!!!!!!!!!!

That is horribly sad.

I think it's so important to remember that we're all really fighting for our lives here. It's serious.

It is so serious. And Celebrity Rehab did not tell the truth of course. More ignorance. Gosh. Absolutely the reason was he probably couldn't handle the withdrawals and reinstated. But that will never come out. And they'll say he was just a drug addict that wanted to get high. Makes me sick.

It's a coinsidence to me that every death is blamed on a Benzo...

From Anna Nicole to Z...

I think it could be a factor, but I don't think all of these deaths are from Benzo's..

It is indeed sad and no one take me wrong, but these celeb's are on other things as well.

Tragic!  I saw him on Celebrity Rehab as well.  The thing that disappoints me about Celebrity Rehab is that they never explain the difference between Benzo w/d and other drugs.  No wonder the public in general is clueless as to what we are going through.

When they had Janice Dickenson on there, it looked like Benzo w/d was basically the same as w/d from opiates with only a few minor differences.  I was terribly disappointed.  The show made it appear that you could just simply detox from benzos as well.

After going to a detox for benzos I can tell you that even the facility I went to treated benzo detox with the same protocols that they used for opiates.  They didn't understand why I was so sick when I left or why I needed help getting through the airport just to get back home.  This was confusing for my husband.  We didn't know what was going on.  Thank God my husband believed I was telling the truth as to how mentally and physically disabled I was.  He demanded that they send an escort with me to the airport to get me on the plane.  I don't know how I would have ever made it home if it weren't for that.

I think it is important to humanize the name associated with a drug over dose.  You can watch Mike Starr on Celebrity Rehab and see his struggle to get off drugs at:

Despite the fact that I don't agree with everything in their treatment protocol, and I think other episodes did not give the full benzo story- there are always things you can learn and take away from this show.
