This does give one hope.  I have to wonder how the know whether rats have -or don't have - tinnitus but I'm sure they have their ways.  ;)  Wish the clinical trials were going to be in the U.S.

I feel bad for the rats and wish the trial would be in the US, too, but Belgium has a state of the art tinnitus clinic- the US government has put a lot of money into this particular research because of the Afghan and Iraq wars- many vets have disabling tinnitus. While it's true that no humans have been cured yet from VNS + tones, all of the positive research points to the neural plasticity of the brain. I meditate, so I believe in this research! No more drugs for me, but I'd volunteer for this study in a New York minute.
