[mi...]
I found this on Youtube ... did they really screen these ads in the US, or is this some sort of joke? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NG1hdWb8yBM

[Co...]
I'm from the UK - these adverts seem weird over here too. Drug companies cannot advertise prescription drugs in the UK. I assume it is similar in Australia and most other "developed" countries.
[st...]
AND my son-in-law has a high powered job with this company. Hm-m-m-m-m!! These commercials are a joke. As I understand it they have to put the side affects in these commercials in order not to be sued. Patty xo
[Co...]
My view is that if the product is too dangerous to advertise without such complicated warnings, they should not be advertised in this manner. The information contained within a TV advert is transitory - this is not the best way to disseminate complex information. In my view, the advertising of medicine should only take place in specialised outlets, such as medical journals. The general public are not trained to assess the suitability of drugs, and cannot prescribe them - why are they the recipients of such adverts? A doctor should decide what is the best and most suitable treatment. Obviously, patients see these adverts and pressurise their doctors. Clearly, such pressure works or the drug companies would have long ago stopped placing such adverts. The whole thing is extremely unethical and just goes to prove how easily doctors are influenced too. And, taking this issue slightly wider, doctors generally claim to be above reacting to such pressure. Bullshit. They are people, just like the rest of us. They should stop accepting freebies from company reps and rely upon unbiased information.
Guest [ke...]
I'm afraid that's a real commercial, I have seen it numerous times. We have a lot of Cymbalta ads and so on.. Zoloft and Lunesta as well. It's disgusting. Keryn.
[...]
I cringe every time I see the Lunesta commerical with that little butterfly flying around and the claim that it is thought Lunesta acts on Gaba receptors....and I think to myself...if they only knew that was BAD!!
