Schedule switching over to Valium from .75mg klonopin

Hi everyone,

 

I have been able to get down to 0.75mg klonopin from my starting dose of 1mg. Looking at possibly switching over to Valium per the Ashton Manual to help limit withdrawal symptoms before I continue my taper down. From my understanding, my equivalent dose would be 15mg of Valium, right? Also, as far as my schedule plans go, I was considering:

 

First week: .5mg klonopin, 5mg Valium daily

 

Second week: .25mg klonopin, 10mg Valium

 

Third week: 15mg valium (split into two 7.5mg doses)

 

Fourth week: resume taper

 

Does this make sense? Or am I going too fast and/or overlooking any aspects of this? I really want to do everything in my power to have a taper that is as smooth as possible and don’t want to make my previous mistake of going too fast.

It lookks like you would Ashton's Schedule 5 for the switch, start at Stage 3, and proceed from there.  Your equivalency looks right.
