[Ho...]
Hello everyone, It's been a while since I've been by, but I thought I would drop in to tell you how my taper from .75mg clonazepam has been going. It's gone quite well. This Saturday, I will be taking my last and final dose. I'm down to 0.0625mg daily now. At the outset, I was concerned about the symptoms I might experience during the taper. I'm surprised at how few and mild they have been. What I've noticed most is that a day or so after making a cut, I might get a moderate headache and a bit of nausea/stomach upset that might last a day (or part of a day) and maybe some mild muscle twitches. Anxiety levels have been low and most of the time I'm finding I experience no anxiety. I've had few panic attacks during the taper. All of these have been short-lived, and controllable. Cognitive-behavioural therapy has been invaluable to me in this regard, as has knowing what to expect during the taper. I also realize I've been damned lucky that I got off so easily. Doing the taper at a slow rate has also been quite beneficial. I was tempted to jump off completely when I reached .125mg, but thought better of the idea of tempting fate. Looking forward to taking my last and final dose and hoping I will be able to stay benzo free from there onwards. The moral of the story? A successful taper *is* possible. Don't lose hope and keep trying, even when things get rough.
