I have a feeling we are going to be seeing a lot more of this as the baby boomers begin to retire.  Remember many of this generation have lost much of their wealth, savings and their jobs since the economic downturn.

I just thought that maybe a breakthrough might come from of all places . the insurance companies. evrn now, they will pay for all my other meds but NEVER will they pay for any Benzos (so they ARE aware at some level). If they can make the connection with other health issues (such as possible falls as in the article) then maybe THEY might sound the alarm.

I'm guessing much of the medication issues are as a result of doctors being reluctant or refusing to help their patients w/d off meds or even suggesting that's an option, as we ourselves have encountered time and time again.
