1981 All over again?

In 1981 there was a meeting of experts held to discuss the problem of Benzo dependence and w/d.  The subsequent findings of this meeting were sealed by the Medical Research Council until 2014.  While the findings have been made public, it appears that such a meeting is once again being put together 30 years later.  Will they do the same with the results?  The following is an exerpt from an email from the Department of Health to MP John Perrot.

"The findings of the reports were discussed by members of the All Party

Parliamentary Group for Drug Misuse and the All Party Parliamentary

Group for Involuntary Tranquilliser Addiction (APPGITA) at the joint

meeting on 14 June. Input from participants at this meeting informed

the Minister’s decision to bring together key experts to a roundtable

meeting.

In preparing for the roundtable event, the Minister is meeting the

chair and vice chair of APPGITA to discuss the Department of Health’s

plans for the roundtable and hear from them about what APPGITA would

like to see in the future."

I think this meeting is on the 15th , Im pretty sure Jim Dobbins going to be there. If so he will be our voice 

I emailed him with a thanks and he promptly got back to me with some words of encouragement. Hes very well informed and a really great guy.
