Hello,

Is it possible to taper 1.5 mg of Xanax just in one dose evening? I was on 2 mg and cut to 1.5 mg in November 2022. Now I am on 1.5 mg bedtime dose 4 weeks.
Actually I am bed to couch person now.

Is there anybody, who did it this way? Or should I make at least 3 doses during a day?

My history of Xanax starts slowly in 2017  - 0,25 mg bedtime, but after years I was on 2 mg / bedtime / 09-11/22

I can sleep 5-6 hours, but during a day I feel withdrawals, hard to do anything.

I need advice, because I need to be functional during a day as well - job, family.

Thanks for any advice

Tomas

Hi [...]

I think you’ve answered your own question…

The fact that you are experiencing withdrawals during the day suggests that you need to be dosing more than once a day. It’s no good if your blood serum levels are dropping during the day and putting you into interdose withdrawal. This is not stability, nor is it a stabile position to taper from. You need to find a relatively comfortable and consistent baseline from which to taper. You may need to dose 2 or 3 times a day.
