Working out

How many of you still work out?  IF so, does it help you?

I've not been to the gym in a long time. Mainly due to a right knee replacement that I had over a year ago. I'm still having moderate pain.  I see my surgeon next week and hoping he will do an MRI so we can see if there is really something going on.

I've not been eating healthy at all.  The only thing that tastes good are sweets/junk food.

I know eating healthy probably helps with withdrawal.

I exercised and walked during my taper/withdrawl and found it helped burn off some of the restlessness and anxious energy I had.  I can see with your knee problem that exercise might be challenging - do you live in a place where water aerobics is an option?

By the way, craving sweets during withdrawl isn't uncommon.  I tried not to fret over that too much while I was tapering - the sugar helped get me through.

Exercise can be helpful for many. But you don't want to be putting too much stress on your body, as it can actually do more harm than good. It's not uncommon for people to have setbacks from doing too much. It's best to take things slow for a while, and don't go running any marathons  :D

I used to do water aerobics. I really enjoy it.  But, I got out of the habit of going.  It's easy on the joints and relaxing being in the warm water.  I think I may go back to doing that. I need to do something to move and get out of the house.  I'm obsessing over this detox.

Having a Mare

Believe me I won't be out there hiking Everest. LOL. I have to go slow due to my knee.  I see my surgeon next week.  I'm demanding he does an MRI this time.  I want peace of mind.  I deserve to know if there's something wrong or all is okay.  I may get a second opinion.  I think I might go back to water aerobics.

Good idea corgimom.  I like the idea of using the water as a relaxation tool!

I walked and swam when I was really bad, I tried to run a few times as everyone will say wear urself out to sleep better but it never helped me. But I also was told it would rev up symptoms so I was too scared to for ages. I go to gym every day now and lift heavy weights and do pretty intense cardio, but I have bad knees too so I have to be careful. It doesn’t rev me up at all but I am a year off. Slow and steady wins the race. Walking is best early on x

I plan on going back to water aerobics.  I can walk about 2-3 miles now and me knee hurts a lot afterwards.  I miss hiking! This whole knee surgery has messed up my life. I pray I don't need a revision.  But, for now I'm going to get back to the pool.

I took a long break and didn't visit the gym for a long time. But about three months ago I decided that it was time to return to exercise. Currently, I do workouts mostly at home, just surfed the Internet and found proper exercises here https://betterme.world/articles/ Yes, it took some time to get used to a new regime, but now I train at least two times a week and feel much better.

I'm unable to work out. I'm getting ready to go in for a major surgery....total knee revision.  It's too painful to exercise right now.

I try to do anything to keep my body in motion and my mind focus on something. Not to be constantly be lying down or being stationary in one place sitting or play on my phone makes me feel worst. There still will be days my symptoms is really bad so resting is a must. I can't eat any kind of foods now due to being sensitive to anything. Any kind of carbs or sugar sets me off, like im going to die.

Mark....

I'm unable to exercise right now. All I've done is sit around for nearly 2 years watching TV or playing on social media. Not healthy. I don't feel healthy.

Plus, I've been in chronic pain which has caused severe depression.

As well as having to taper off 2 meds at the same time.  I've felt pretty bad for the past 2 years.

I don't like what I've become.

Before 2002: 2/3 times a week

2002-2005: once a day

2005-now: 4-8 times a day.

This mess made me a full time athlete. Sports has been my way out of this mess and my goal is to win running matches to raise awareness what psychiatry and their medication do to people.

In short: yes, I work out  :P

SnelleJelle.....I think it's great you work out. I really miss it. I can't because of my knee. It's been over 2 years now since I've had a routine for the gym. I'm having my knee revision on Nov 21st. I'm really hoping it helps. I need to get back to the gym. I'm so out of shape and miserable now.

It is also important to give yourself a break when it gets too difficult .

I know people who take too much on themselves and later in life they get even more problem.

A friend of mine (absolutely healthy young man) needs to buy viagra online in order to have relations with the woman and i honestly think the reason for that is that he did too much sports in the past.
