Hello Benzo Warriors,

I have food sensitivities that cause histamine issues. My sinuses and chest get congesed, anxiety, weakness, dizziness worsens, muscle stiffness, muscle weakness etc.

Like most here, I want to find something that will help my gut heal so I can expand my diet.

My reserch is extensive, including a few sites below including FDA warnings regarding beware of bentonite clay and lead.

Has anyone in this forum tried Bentonite Clay and found it beneficial for leaky gut or digestion issues?

I appreciate any input. :)

I think healing leaky gut requires a multi prong approach and bentonite clay alone wouldn’t do much .  Have you followed low histamine diet with DAO?

Hi Hearmerohr, Yes, I am on the low histamine diet for about8 months now.  I have a couple of DAO products with vitamin C but hesitant to try them.....makes no sense, because I will never know unless I try.  Sad how going through this recovery process puts some of us in fear. Have you tried DAO?  Mine is Acestral Supps Beef Kidney.

Thanks

Always,

I tried the DAO but it gave me a stuffy nose so I stopped.  Some people have great luck though and it’s just adding an enzyme to your stomach that should already be there.  I don’t really hear of people having reactions to it.

I have used bentonite clay for years.  I recently started it again for my histamine issues.  So far, I don't notice much benefit.  It does immediate take away the acid reflux, but of course it always comes back.  But it can take awhile for it to clean up the gut.  What I've read about the heavy metal issue is that you don't absorb it from clay.

Hi Kathy M,

Have you had success with trace Minerals decreasing your histamine issues?  Thanks

Alwayshope, I can't say it helped with histamine issues directly but I feel like it helped my gut a lot which I think has contributed to helping with histamine issues, bentonite is probably best for histamine issues... that and time))

I initially didn't know what was going on until I tried the elimination diet that helped.  My PCP and Neurologist diagnosed vit D and B12 deficiencies but as with others vit D and B12 rev up symptoms. The Endo said all hormones, etc came back normal but I'm sure my Adrenals are taxed due to my sisters illness and passing.....I wanted her to see me heal from this.....But God has another plan.

My blood sugar drops are subsiding and now I am left with the food sensitivities from high histamine foods that cause the anxiety, occas heart palps, dizziness, muscle stiffness and weakness.  I know stress plays a part in our healing prcess so I am praying, trying mindfulness exercises and eating as healthyas possible.  For me, I'm not one that can withstand suffering and it's hard to see the pain in my son's eyes as he cares for me so I keep trying because unfortunatey my doctors are of little help.  I am going to try the Histaminex slowly and respond as to my reaction.  Thanks so much to all.

It sounds like you are on the right track.  It occurs to me that you should also support your liver.  I have found that to be a very valuable part of my healing.  You can start gentle with castor oil packs daily and then maybe try a coffee enema,  Good luck to you.

FOXCLOVER,  I tried the Histablock and had a bad reaction, (bad anxiety, stomach issues), I just ordered the Bentonite clay powder.  It's advised to start really extremely slow with just a sprinkle in water.  The problem is being able to withstand the reactions. it's been explained that bentonite clay is a detoxifier along with other benefits.  I understand that for those who are still tapering (I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT WHILE TAPERING)  AND us with food sensitivities etc.  This can be a strain.  I am going to try the bentonite clay for a few weeks with sprinkles of a low histamine probiotic and follow-up here.  Check out the links below.

It's very strange that the buddies that say they will folow-up, don't show up....
