Dr. Needed a Push for Crossover/Substitution

When I asked for Valium while on Ativan to do the crossover for the benefit of a longer lasting med and easier reduction, the Dr. was stunned at taking both meds at once.  I sent him articles from Dr. Ashton, from this site, and another.  I then had to tell his nurse that I would have no issue finding a Dr. to prescribe Valium to go with the quantity of Ativan I still had and he came around.  Lots of effort but I guess Drs cannot be experts in all areas.

I can understand his concern, jackson.  On the face of it, you're adding a benzo, not getting off one.  Glad you were able to educate him - or was it more like blackmail?
